Salida and the surrounding area offers four season activities for families and friends of all ages. Whether you are looking for a nice hike, fun bike ride, beautiful fly fishing spot, skiing, watersports, and (post-covid) art festivals, live music and intimate dining, Salida offers it all. BASE CAMP
The Salida area is centrally located in Colorado and offers a great base camp to four-season activities. Two and a half hours from Denver and four hours from Santa Fe; 30 minutes from Buena Vista and Browns Canyon National Monument featuring the Upper Arkansas and Class III rapids. It's also an easy drive to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. 25 minutes to Ski Monarch. Salida is well known for its biking, both road and mountain varieties. Rides are literally right out the door.
